I must confess that I don't usually make homemade bread. At least not until I picked up a bread machine. Making bread always seemed so intimidating and now I just dump everything into a machine and it does it for me.
I grew up helping my grandmother make the most awesome homemade rolls. I have many memories of standing her her kitchen kneading the dough. I can still see her hands as they worked.
If you like the taste of homemade bread but don't have the time to do it by hand, pick up a bread machine. You can buy them second hand at yard sales and thrift stores if you don't want to spend the money for a new one. I have now been using my $2 bread machine from Goodwill for over 15 years.
