The other day, I had a serious craving for Rice Krispies Treats, so I made a quick trip to Walmart and picked up a box of Rice Krispies and a bag of marshmallows.
Once I had everything laid out and ready to go, I decided to dig through my pantry for anything fun to add in. And jackpot—I found a bag of Butterfinger baking bits.
There’s no fancy recipe here. Just whip up a standard batch of Rice Krispies Treats and toss in however much Butterfinger you think feels right. Want to use the whole bag? Go for it—no judgment!
BUTTERFINGER RICE KRISPIES TREATS
INGREDIENTS
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 package (10 oz. ) marshmallows or 7 oz of marshmallow cream
- Butterfinger bits 0r crushed candy bars
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
- Add cereal and butterfinger baking bits. Stir until well coated.
- Using buttered spatula, wax, or parchment paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray or lined with parchment paper. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.
