Ever since I got my freeze dryer, I've been finding delicious ways to use up my stash of freeze-dried strawberries—like these sweet, simple strawberry Rice Krispies treats.
INGREDIENTS
- 6 cup Rice Krispies
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 10 oz bag strawberry marshmallows
- 1 ounce freeze dried strawberries
- Optional: extra freeze-dried strawberry pieces for topping
DIRECTIONS
- Grease or put parchment paper in a 9×13-inch pan (or 9×9-inch pan for thicker treats) and set aside.
- In a blender or food processor, blend the freeze-dried strawberries to form a powder. Set aside.
- In a large pot or microwave, melt the butter and marshmallows. Stir until completely melted. (My microwave takes 1 ½ minutes to melt the marshmallows perfectly)
- Add the strawberry powder. Stir until well combined.
- Stir in the cereal. Spread the mixture into the prepared pan and press gently with spatula or parchment paper to flatten.
- Cool in pan for about 30 minutes before cutting and serving.
